8 week checkup

Zoe had her 8 week doctor's appointment...with her first round of the dreaded shots!!!

Of course, she cried during the 3 sticks to the thigh but settled down quickly when we gave her a bottle. She felt sleepy when we got home and was a little crabby (but tired at the same time, so it was a mellow crabby). By 9:00 that night she was back to her normal self and doing well.

She weighed 9 lbs, 7 oz Gaining 4 lbs, 4 oz since she was born!!!

She is now in the 25th percentile for both height and weight...way to go Zoe!!! You never cease to amaze us...Keep up that good eating!

Here is some video of her on her 2 month birthday...she's becoming more and more interactive every day!

2 months!

Dear Zoe,

You are two months old today! Here is what we want to remember about you:

-You have just started to smile back when we smile and act silly with you. It is the BEST!

-You have discovered that you can put your hands in your mouth to soothe yourself

-Your favorite place to talk is on your changing table.

-You have lost the hair on the top of your head which we lovingly refer to as "male pattern balding" (but its already growing back!)

-Your teachers say you have learned to sleep through the cries of your classmates (even the REALLY loud one!)

-You have started to sleep in 4-5 hour stretches at night...yaaaaaaaaaaay! You don't cry to wake us up, but we hear your smacking your lips in hunger so we get up to feed our poor hungry girl!

-You have started to show an interest in toys that if they are hanging above you...you coo at the zebra and other animals in your bassinet and probably think of them as your friends ;)

-If you are fussy and we turn on the vacuum cleaner or hair dryer you calm down IMMEDIATELY...it's pretty cool.

-You have grown out of a lot of your newborn clothes...can't wait to see how much you weigh at your next doctor's appointment.

-We fall in love with you a little bit more every day!

First day of "school"

Well...Zoe's time at home during the day has come to an end...it is sad, but we will look forward to June 11th when the "Summer of Fun 2010" will begin! The first day was hard...the second day isn't looking any easier (for us, not her!)...gotta keep a still upper lip!

How Mommy (and Daddy) felt about Zoe' first day of school.

Just chillin...

Typical day...Zoe dressed cute...Mom in sweats.

Tummy time!

Tidbits from the week...

Oma did what she does best...help a baby fall asleep. Some say this is because she is "boring" but we think it is related to her calm nature ;)

Zoe had a play date to meet her cousins Leah and Ryder. Ryder seemed to take to Zoe quite well, Leah smiled a lot, but Zoe was kind of standoffish. She has a lot of work to do in the socialization department.

Love our girl's face when she is being burped via the "it looks like you're choking her" method. Had to capture it in photos. She either looks happy or extremely alarmed when being burped this way...priceless!

Oh...and our little girl had what we refer to as "poop explosions" for the first time and then on three consecutive days this week...(she took a day off and decided to engage in "projectile vomiting" instead on the 4th day). Chris is getting good at painstakingly removing the evidence with an old toothbrush. Zoe's going to owe him big later on in life!

And this one is purely to capture a mom's memory of the first time Daddy put together the baby's clothing ensemble . While probably not remarkable to most, it made me (Stefanie) giggle.

New Year's Day

We spent the entire day camped out on the couch drinking mimosa's and watching movies (500 Days of Summer, Funny People, and All About Steve). Zoe had milk.

Male pattern balding...

Zoe slept with us on the couch all day...lucky day for a baby!

Ended the day with more champagne, steak, twice baked potatoes, and brussel sprouts, and more champagne!
